Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Project Manager with a solid foundation in software development and knowledge of Scrum methodologies to support the delivery of IT projects. The ideal candidate will assist in managing project lifecycles, ensuring successful execution of software initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing IT projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Support Agile/Scrum processes, including facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to gather requirements and track project deliverables.
- Monitor project progress using tools like Jira, Trello, or MS Project, and report updates to senior project managers and stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate project risks or issues, contributing to problem-solving and mitigation efforts.
- Ensure adherence to software development best practices and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to foster an Agile mindset and continuous improvement.
- Assist in coordinating with vendors or external partners as needed.
Required experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT, with exposure to software development projects (e.g., internships, entry-level roles, or relevant coursework).
- Foundational knowledge of Scrum methodologies; Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is a plus.
- Basic technical background in software development, such as coding, system design, or testing.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment with guidance from senior team members.
