Overview
We are looking for a Project Manager with proficiency in the Japanese language to lead and coordinate projects effectively. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 10 years of experience in project management, working closely with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. This role requires strong communication skills in Japanese, along with the ability to manage teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Define project scope, objectives, and key deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress and resolving any issues proactively.
- Coordinate with development, design, and business teams to ensure smooth execution of project tasks.
- Conduct meetings, presentations, and documentation in Japanese as required.
- Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring project goals align with business objectives.
- Translate business and technical documents between Japanese and English when needed.
- Ensure adherence to Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies, depending on project requirements.
Required experience
- Proficiency in the Japanese language (JLPT N2 or above preferred).
- Project Management Experience (3–10 years) in IT, software development, or related industries.
- Familiarity with Project Management tools (JIRA, Trello, Asana, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Strong Leadership & Team Management Skills to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
- Experience in handling budgets, timelines, and risk assessments for successful project execution.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Understanding of business etiquette and corporate culture in Japan.
